MMC service mode introduced into SIP

SIP launched the effort on Jan 24 to set up a Metabolic Management Center (MMC) service system, aiming to improve prevention and treatment of chronic metabolic diseases in an all-around way.

The MMC, initiated by Ning Guang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a diabetes specialist, aims to provide one-stop diagnosis and treatment to help lower the occurrence rate of chronic metabolic diseases.

SIP Health Commission will take the charge of the building of the MMC service system in SIP following the “1+4+7+X” strategy which features the participation of Dushu Lake Hospital, four Grade-II hospitals, seven community-based health centers and a number of grassroots health service stations. The aim is to make the MMC services available in all public medical institutions in SIP in about two years.
